Just a Number
The first month in the calendar is always delightful.
Number 1 is a powerful sign and amazingly affects people’s feelings. Surprisingly, most of the time, we have always been placed under pressure of hierarchical system where being number one is always at stake. We struggle to make it to the top either in business or education. Even when we are dying to escape from those copious routine, we still rely on the sign of number in assessing the value of the piece. When fate plays a cruel trick on us, we can always be back to square one where a bright future is ahead.
People mark this period of time with celebrations before they start over. What happens later will be recorded and classified according to its effect on our way of lives and then be recalled in the following year. Ultimately, we are the one who judge how much influence each incident has over our views and attitudes, whether discouraging or encouraging. At this stage ranking or numbers is of no significance to us.
Every passing and coming year come along experiences in which joy and sorrow crystallize our thoughts.
Just another passing year or a year of the new beginning? A complete failure or a minor complication?
When we try our best, rank is just a number.
