Pass muster
Amid the cheering of the Chilean and the entire world after a successful rescue operation which 33 miners were trapped deep beneath the Chilean earth, two Thai welders as part of this unforgettable mission were elated and relieved.
I was curious to know what brought them there and the reason why they were involved with this historic moment.
A simple answer is they’ve got practical know-how. Wachiraphong Nasaree and Somphong Phongkanya, staff of Metalogic Inspection Services were asked by the Chilean government to joinin making a rescue tube. They were said to be crucial to the job because of their expertise and long experience in the filed. Both were also described as hard-working, diligent and having a good attitude.
The story of these two men reflected the significance of skills and workmanship which have nothing to do with genetic endowment. Such technical accuracy is by all means the fruit of practice and patience.
As the world of business is being dictated at a furious pace, worldwide distribution can be achieved double quick due to free trade policy. Of course, we can’t inhibit others from investing more money and technology and enjoy the wealth alone. The point is how Thailand can nurture and foster its talent. Whatever the future holds for us, Thai skilled craftsmen will always be key part of the splendid creation.
